Hi Swap-Bot member! I arrived here from reddit's r/RandomActsofCards via r/PenPals, where sending cards didn't quite scratch the itch of writing full form prosaic letters to people I don't know. I'm also too afraid to send letters to unverified individuals and thus found Swap-Bot - I'm so pleased that it's going strong 20 years after its inception.

I have always loved science, and how magic that we don't understand can evolve into science through methodolgical study. Thus, my career has revolved around evidence-based medicine. I loved my anatomy modules.

I am deeply fascinated by psychology, cheese ("you may fascinate a woman by giving her a piece of cheese"), and secular spirituality - not fanatical, organised religion. I dabble in crafts, soul-searching and PC gaming, and strive to participate in climate activism, rewilding, community spirit.

My colours of choice are purple, pink, gold, blue, green - think jewel tones.

One day, when I am completely on my own, I will own a cat.

I have an eclectic taste is music; the best way to describe my taste is music that makes me feel something. Of a day, I can listen to pop, folk, tropical house, film scores, classical (conventional and contemporary), indie, rock, alternative and musical theatre soundtracks.

I find non-fiction very difficult to read, since my day job consists mainly of appraising published evidence and concluding some form of action that should be taken to protect or improve the health of the public. So in my spare time I really only enjoy fiction, or very specific autobiographies. I like poetry, science and historical fiction, Stephen King + horror, mythology, mystery, thrillers. I have a mixed view on fantasy.

A mishmash of well-sculpted period dramas, science fiction (again), apocalyptic dystopias, comedy, thrillers and horror, wholesome animation, and romcoms that stand the test of time.

My comfort shows include Parks and Recreation, The Office US, Schitt's Creek, Friends, Charmed, Stranger Things, Taskmaster, QI, The Walking Dead, Black Summer. Observational documentaries by Louis Theroux and other British heavyweights should be mandatory vieweing.

My primary craft is cross stitching - it's neat, predictable, logical and soothing. My primary artistic hobbies are singing and dancing (musical theatre and opera). My daily hobby is boardgaming; with Board Game Area, what a time to be alive. I also periodically colour, paint (watercolour and acrylic) and try to build miniature kits.
